Klang-Performance mit Lottie Sebes, Kayla Elrod und Amplified Bellows
Hold for Three“ ist eine Klang-Performance, die Körper in Maschinen und Objekte in Organe verwandelt. Kayla Elrod und Lottie Sebes erforschen die klanglichen Möglichkeiten verschiedener Blasebälge, die sie als Instrumente, Körpererweiterungen und Prothesen einsetzen. Keuchender Atem, knarrendes Scharnieren, sich lösende Schrauben und zischend heiße Luft werden in Klangwelten aufgenommen. Veraltete Industrieobjekte verwandeln sich in obskure Organe: angetrieben von einem mechanischen Atem, einem Kreislauf aus Spannung und Entlastung. Was schleicht aus dem Mund eines Schlauches auf dem Boden eines alten Seeschiffes?

Sonic Performance with Lottie Sebes, Kayla Elrod and Amplified Bellows
‘Hold for Three’ is a sonic performance which morphs bodies into machinehood and objects into organs. Kayla Elrod and Lottie Sebes probe the sonic capacities of various bellows, operating them as instruments, extensions and prosthetics.
Sonic worlds are built from wheezing breath, creaking hinges, loosening screws, and hot air hissing. Outmoded objects of production are transformed into otherworldly organs, powered by mechanical respiration, a cycle of tension and release. What slips from a hosed mouth on the floor of an old ship?
Lottie Sebes is an Australian sound artist living in Berlin, whose practice spans the fields of installation, electroacoustic music, video, and performance. Using old and new technologies, she tells stories that transcend time, stories that emerge from the genealogy of her instruments and their socio-cultural implications. Sebes has exhibited and performed internationally, including at the Elsewhere Living Museum (USA), Sonoscopia (PT), iMAL Art Center for digital cultures & technology (BE), Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (AU), Antre Peaux (FR) and Experimance Festival (DE).

Lottie Sebes ist eine in Berlin lebende australische Klangkünstlerin, deren Praxis sich auf die Bereiche Installation, elektroakustische Musik, Video und Performance erstreckt. Mit alten und neuen Technologien erzählt sie, zeitübergreifende Geschichten, die aus der Genealogie ihrer Instrumente und ihren soziokulturellen Implikationen erwachsen. Sebes hat international ausgestellt und performt, unter anderem im Elsewhere Living Museum (USA), Sonoscopia (PT), iMAL Art Center for digital cultures & technology (BE), Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (AU), Antre Peaux (FR) und Experimance Festival (DE).

Kayla Elrod setzt Klang und Körper ein, und bildet Experimente und Performances, die das Publikum mit Themen wie Sexarbeit, Klassismus, Nutzwert und Verschwendung konfrontieren. Diese Themen geht sie mit der Verbindung von Berührung, Zuhören und Rollenspiele heran. Dies fördert das Entwerfen und Erforschen ihrer Requisiten/Instrumente. In Berlin hat sie ihren MA in Sound Studies und Sonic Arts an der UdK abgeschlossen und das Sonic Curiosities Collective und das LODE collective mit gegründet, die beide FLINTA*-Musiker, Klangkünstler und Performer vertreten. Ihre Arbeiten entstehen in der Regel in Form von Dauerperformances, Musik, ortsspezifischen Interventionen, Videos, Audiocollagen und Installationen.

Kayla Elrod employs sound and the body, forming experiments and performances that confront the audience with themes such as sex work, classism, utility, and waste. These themes she approaches with a combination of touch, listening and role-playing. This encourages the design and Exploration of her props/instruments. In Berlin she completed her MA in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts at the UdK. and co-founded the Sonic Curiosities Collective and the LODE collective both of which represent FLINTA* musicians, sound artists and performers. Their works are usually created in form of durational performances, music, site-specific interventions, videos, audio collages, and installations.
