Es geht um (un)erzählte Geschichten, Erinnerungen und die Muster, die die dem menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen Verhalten zugrunde liegen. Dabei durchqueren wir das Netzwerk, das alle Wesen miteinander verbindet. Odd Sonorous: S.Abligua x Odekon

S.Abligua x Odekon is a film installation that actively adapts AI technology as a fundamental artistic imagination/inspiration. The story starts with a discovery of a plant that used to make a sound and is considered extinct. Odd Sonorous suggests an act of listening as a way of reconciliation, and symbiosis between humans and nature and implements decolonial and decentralized practice realized by current technology.

About the Collective:  

Odd Sonorous is a collective between Anna Fainareti Lioka and Hyewon Suk started from 2021 in Berlin. Exploring the ecological and material perspectives of sound, they constantly rebuild the relationship between subject/object, nature/culture, and human/non-human. With diverse sonic methodologies including critical and decolonial listening, environmental soundscape, and embodied cognition of sound, their work encompasses audio installation, audiovisual work, fixed composition and performance actively adopting the new technologies such as machine learning and multi-channel reproduction.

Odd Sonorous: S.Abligua x Odekon

S.Abligua x Odekon ist eine Filminstallation, die sich künstlerisch von KI-Technologie inspirieren lässt. Die Geschichte beginnt mit der Entdeckung einer Pflanze, die in der Lage ist, selbst Geräusche zu erzeugen, mittlerweile aber als ausgestorben gilt. Odd Sonorous schlägt eine Handlung des Zuhörens als einen Weg der Versöhnung und Symbiose zwischen Mensch und Natur vor und setzt eine dekoloniale und dezentrale Praxis um, die durch aktuelle Technologie realisiert wird.

Das Kollektiv:

Odd Sonorous ist ein Kollektiv, bestehend aus Anna Fainareti Liaoka und Hyewon Suk, das 2021 in Berlin gegründet wurde. Gemeinsam erforschen die Künstlerinnen die ökologischen und materiellen Perspektiven des Klangs und stellen die Beziehung zwischen Subjekt/Objekt, Natur/Kultur und Mensch/Nichtmensch immer wieder neu her. Ihre Arbeit umfasst Audioinstallationen, audiovisuelle Arbeiten, Kompositionen und Performances, die neue Technologien wie maschinelles Lernen und Mehrkanalwiedergabe einsetzen.
